Located in South Carolina, Lake Murray, also known as the "Crown Jewel of the Midlands," is a reservoir of more than 50,000 acres that serves as an abundant resource for drinking water, hydroelectric power, recreation and fisheries. SCE&G, a subsidiary of SCANA, is responsible for land use and shoreline management around Lake Murray.
SCANA recently completed construction of a backup dam at Lake Murray, which was one of the largest dam remediation projects in the history of the country.
