April 15, 2003 - SCANA Corporation (NYSE:SCG) has announced the appointment of Sharon Jenkins as senior vice president of marketing and communications for the energy-based holding company.
Jenkins will be responsible for the company's residential and commercial marketing, communications and philanthropic programs, reporting to William B. Timmerman, SCANA chairman and chief executive officer.
Jenkins joins SCANA from Motorola, where she served as vice president and director of marketing for its wireless and broadband systems group, operating in North America, Europe and Asia. Prior to joining Motorola, Jenkins had served as vice president for marketing with a number of telecom providers, including Primeco Personal Communication, AT&T Wireless Services and McCaw Communications.
"Sharon has worked with some premier organizations and will be a welcome addition to our team. She brings extensive marketing and communications experience, including supporting diverse customer needs on a global scale. Her perspective and experiences will further strengthen the focus on our customers in our tri-state service area," Timmerman said.
Jenkins, who has more than 18 years of marketing experience, is a graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in marketing.
