Columbia, SC, August 28, 2003 - South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G), principal subsidiary of SCANA Corporation (NYSE: SCG), announced today that it has signed contract extensions with two of its largest wholesale electric customers. The new agreements with the cities of Orangeburg and Greenwood, South Carolina, mean that SCE&G will continue to provide electricity to the two municipalities to 2009.
These are two of our largest and most valued customers," said SCE&G President Neville Lorick. "We are very pleased that we were able to reach these agreements and look forward to being their electric suppliers through the rest of this decade."
The current contract with Orangeburg's Department of Public Utilities, which provides approximately $31 million in annual revenues to SCE&G and would have expired in 2005, has been extended by four years to April 2009. The contract with Greenwood, which is worth approximately $11 million in annual revenues and would have expired in 2007, was extended by two years to December 2009.
