Atlanta, July 21, 2004 - SCANA Energy has launched, a new interactive Web-based resource that offers educational opportunities and activities. was designed for students, parents and teachers. The site offers lesson plans and learning activities for the classroom. Students can find science project ideas, study tools and energy-related content, while parents are provided techniques for getting involved in their child's education and access to a running list of educational attractions and current events available in their community.

"The feedback from teachers at SCANA Energy homework centers suggested that preparation time is one of their biggest challenges," said Tara Bianco, e-business strategy manager. "To help address that need, we designed to be an online community where teachers can benefit from the knowledge of their professional peers by sharing lesson plans and teaching tools."

Another innovative feature of the site is The Trading Post, which serves as an interactive platform for teachers to post requests for special classroom materials and supplies. Area businesses and individuals can support their schools by fulfilling such requests.

SCANA Energy, serving more than 450,000 customers, is the second-largest marketer of natural gas in Georgia. The company also has a regulated unit, SCANA Energy Regulated Division, selected as the state's only regulated natural gas provider.
