May 12, 2006, Aiken, SC, - Hester Kneece may not be starring in any reality television programming yet, but her Vaucluse home will be receiving an "extreme" makeover on Monday, May 15.

South Carolina Electric & Gas Company and its employees will begin weatherizing Kneece's home as part of its Spring Weatherization Blitz and ongoing community service efforts.

As part of this effort, employee volunteers from SCE&G, in cooperation with the Aiken/Barnwell/Lexington Community Action Agency are caulking, weather-stripping, replacing windows and doors and making other improvements to the home. The Kneece home was selected based on criteria established by the agency.

Nearly 100 SCE&G employee volunteers are weatherizing homes in Vaucluse, Charleston, Columbia, and Mullins, May 15-19, as part of its ongoing community service efforts.

With a $150,000 contribution from SCE&G, and in collaboration with the Governor's Office (Office of Economic Opportunity), three community action agencies are weatherizing more than 142 homes throughout the state.

On May 15, a 10:30 a.m. ceremony highlighting the weatherization efforts will be held at the Kneece home.
