Atlanta, GA, Sept 18, 2006 – SCANA Energy will celebrate its new homework center at Powers Ferry Elementary School with a grand opening on Monday, September 25.

The celebration will be held at the school on 403 Powers Ferry Road in Marietta from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. The event will include The Chattahoochee Nature Center’s presentation of Hunters In The Sky (HITS), an educational program featuring a naturalist using props and activities as well as large raptors to teach students about native predators.

The Powers Ferry Elementary Homework Center operates from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. The center serves 40 second, fourth, and fifth-grade students. “We are excited to partner with SCANA Energy for this enriching after-school program,” says Dr. Joan Mills, principal of Powers Ferry.
