Cayce, S.C. (April 30, 2014) – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy last night presented SCE&G with their 2014 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Each year, the EPA and the DOE honor organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment and reducing greenhouse gasses through energy efficiency. ENERGY STAR is a voluntary EPA program that helps businesses and individuals save money and protect the climate through energy efficiency.
SCE&G was lauded for using diverse marketing tactics to effectively promote ENERGY STAR programs and products to its customers. By leveraging the ENERGY STAR label, program specifications, and marketing support, SCE&G was able to reduce energy consumption by more than 200,000 MWh since early 2011.
